The announcements also unveiled that Reply working with Google Hangouts and Android Messages. Here, it offers Smart Replies to your notification and gives responses to questions like “When can you be home?” or “Are you at the restaurant?”
According to Google’s internal incubator Area 120 announcement, the goal of the project is to bring support for Reply within various chat applications including Allo, Facebook Messenger, Skype, Slack, Hangouts, WhatsApp, Android Messages, and Twitter DMs. The new app also includes other automated features such as a Do Not Disturb mode, and a Vacation Responder.
Google is working on a new messaging app that adds smart replies but has not mentioned other details such as the launch time.
“One of the many projects that we’re working on within Area 120 is Reply, which suggests smart replies right in notifications from various chat apps,” said a Google spokesperson. “Like all other projects within Area 120, it’s a very early experiment so there aren’t many details to share right now.”
