2019 BMW M2 Competition’s official details leaked online with the pictures. Report hints at faster, sportier coupe and suggesting the car will inherit the M3 and M4’s pokier 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline-six engine.
The M2 Competition makes 410 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. It covers a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of 4.2 seconds with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, BMW says. In fact, rear-wheel drive system, compact nature of the car, and the short wheelbase gives the driver an absolute treat.
The visual modifications include redesigned black kidney grille, bespoke black wheels, and slightly enlarged air intakes as well as it gets the M4’s wing mirrors.
At the design, the 2019 BMW M2 Competition features a number of updates including new 19-inch wheels, a new front bumper, and a black kidney grille. It packs rear light clusters and adaptive LED headlamps. You will also find larger front intakes, re-sculpted side mirror housings factor, two new exterior hues, Silver Hockenheim and Sunset Orange.
There are a new red starter button and ‘M1’ and ‘M2’ configurable drive mode buttons over the steering wheel which offers configurable drive settings as well as new M4-sourced seats with illuminated badging.
The report says the M2 Competition is expected to launch at the Beijing Motor Show in April and the production will start in July. The company has not revealed the pricing details of the M2 Competition but as the current M2 retails for £46,700, the new model is expected to be priced nearer to £50,000.
