The most sensational and popular mobile video game – The Pokémon Go finally has made its way to India. After a long wait, the game finally hit the Indian market today. The parental company, Niantic Inc. with the collaboration of Reliance Jio unveiled “Pokémon Go” for Indian gamers today. From tomorrow, the game will be available for download on various platforms.
As said by Reliance Jio in its official statement, Pokémon Go will be accessible for download via Google Play and the Apple App Store from Wednesday in India. As a part of the contract, Some selected partner premises of Reliance and Reliance Digital Stores will work as ‘PokéStops’ or ‘Gyms’ across the country.
To summon up, Pokémon Go was launched in July, earlier this year and soon after started taking the market by storm. Since its launch, the game has witnessed more than 500 million downloads across the globe.
After starting Pokémon Go in India, John Hanke, Founder, and CEO of Niantic Inc said, “ we are euphoric and excited to announce the opening of Pokémon Go for the Indian gamers. As a part of this partnership, gamers will be able to get an exclusive Pokemon Go channel on JioChat app of Reliance Jio. The new addition of Pokémon Go Channel with the popular messaging application of Jio will enable the players of Pokémon Go to work jointly with the exciting community of Pokémon Go. The new channel will facilitate the players to enjoy contests, clues, daily tips, and special events, said an official of Reliance Jio in a statement.
To play this game on their mobile, gamers need to have a smartphone with an active mobile data connection, camera, and GPS. The partnership of Niantic with Reliance Jio is clearly intended to take the subscriptions rates of Reliance Jio to a higher level.
