Android 7.1 Nougat Developer Preview 2

After the official announcement regarding the rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat on its top-of-the-line smartphones, Sony recently has started dispatching it on its Xperia models. Back in August this year, the Japanese Multinational announced to update its smartphones with the latest Operating System of Google and keeping its promise, Sony has begun sending updates to most of its Xperia phones.

The new firmware is now progressively rolling out to the Sony Xperia models like Xperia X (F5121), the Xperia X Compact (F5321), and the Xperia X Dual (F5122). All three handsets are now bumped up from base OS version to 34.2.A.0.266v. In coming days, many more Xperia smartphones will get the Nougat updates, following the dispatch of it to Xperia XZ and the Xperia X Performance.

Here is a list of Sony smartphones under its Xperia flagship which will soon be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat. Check if your device is listed below or not:

Sony Xperia X, Xperia X Dual, and Xperia X-Compact

The roll out of Android 7.0 Nougat has already started on Sony Xperia X flagships, under which models like Xperia X, Xperia X Dual, and Xperia X Compact will be upgraded to the new OS.

Sony Xperia XZ

Xperia XZ, which is the most recent flagship of Sony, has already started getting updates from Android 7.0 Nougat earlier this month. According to XDA Developers, update weighing 1 GB has already been rolled out to a set of nations like Australia, the Netherlands, Russia, and Turkey, while upgrading program in other countries are in the pipeline.

Sony Xperia X Performance

Sony back in August was testing the Beta Version of Android Nougat on its Xperia X Performance. After successful testing, Sony earlier this month started launching Android 7.0 Nougat for its X Performance and X Performance Dual models with the build number 39.2.A.0.327.

Sony Xperia XA & Xperia XA Ultra

Xperia XA and Xperia XA Ultra are the only two smartphones of Sony who are still in the queue to get Android 7.0 Nougat Updates. However, the rumours are suggesting both models be upgraded with the new OS in the Q1 of 2017.

Among other smartphones, the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5 Premium Dual, Xperia Z5, Xperia Dual, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z4 Tablet, and Xperia Z3+ handsets are expected to be rolled out with the Nougat OS in the second quarter of 2017.
