Apple, after heaps of speculations and rumours, finally on Monday launched the upgraded version of its much-loved OS – the iOS 10. After grabbing lots of success for its previous Operating System, Apple dispatched the iOS 10.2 for all of its iPhone, iPad and iPod touch models. With some minor and major bug fixes, Apple also has added some new features like a full range of new emojis, new effects in iMessage, new TV app, and superior camera features to its latest iOS 10.2. In addition to these new additions, Apple, for the first time has brought up India-Specific Emergency SOS Button with its iOS 10.2.

The recently launched iOS 10.2 is carrying more than hundred emojis from the Unicode 9.0 standard. The new firmware of Apple features a more realistic looking smiley with the variants for male and female alongside multiple new designs. The new additions of emoji are entitled to selfies, sneezing, and much more. It also carries a people-themed emoji like a pregnant woman alongside 100 more smileys.  Moreover, the iPhone emoji keyboard will also represent the featured occupations like teacher, firefighter, and scientist.

Among other most highlighted feature, the India-based emergency SOS button is one. Once you upgrade the old operating system of your Apple device to iOS 10.2, the Emergency SOS option will be activated on your device. One can find it by going to Settings >> General menu. This new option will allow you to send an emergency message by pressing the power button of the device for a particular time. The new firmware also facilitates the users to personalise the SOS settings under the same option, including the number of pressing the Power button to make the Emergency SOS call, Sound-option, etc.

In accordance with the new guidelines of Indian Government, the feature of SOS is mandatory to present in all phones in India. Moreover, Indian Government is also going to adopt ‘112’ as the new emergency number and the rule will come into power from 1st January 2017.

The new iOS 10.2 is designed for all iPhones, iPads, and iPad Touch and users of such devices will soon get upgrade notification on their gadget. But if you want to push the new OS manually, then go to Settings >> General >> Software Update and download and install the new iOS 10.2.
