The latest study has revealed the weird association between a sleep and a pet dog. A group of researchers had a deep research on 40 healthy individuals and their sleep quality. For this research, they had an observation on the selected healthy adults, as no one of participants was having any sleeping disorder as well as their dogs should be of more than five months of a period. They both the people along with their dogs wore the activity machine for tracking their individual patterns of sleeping on daily basis.
The conclusion of this research conducted on the humans and their pets-dogs, gave the final conclusion that the people kept dogs in the same bedroom they used to sleep, are found to have a better sleep quality.
Lois Krahn from Mayo Clinic in the United States said that, “Do not let your canines crawl under the covers with you. The sleep benefit extends only to having dogs in your bedroom – not in your bed. Today, many pet owners are away from their pets for much of the day, so they want to maximize their time with them when they are home. Having them in the bedroom at night is an easy way to do that. And, now, pet owners can find comfort knowing it won’t negatively impact their sleep.”
Though, it should be noted that there makes a big difference, whether the dog is simply sharing the same bedroom or sharing a same bed. The people slept with the dogs on the same are found to have a lower quality of the sleep. Also one should not ignore some notes that this experiment has been done only on a group of sample of participants and pets. Not any dog was under the age of six months.
