Samsung has recently announced a great update that allows to completely disable Bixby button from the smartphone series that includes Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 plus and Note 8. The new update is said to fall in September.
Bixby is a digital assistant of Samsung smartphones that Samsung announced for all purposes and intents in order to bet great on virtual assistant by pitting against Microsoft’s Cortana, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Actually, the Bixby was launched as a replacement for the Samsung Voice next to Galaxy S8 and S8 plus in March. The company should have waited to launch the technology until 2019 for getting it perfectly running and releasing it along with the Samsung Galaxy S9, but it did not and unfortunately failed.
So, Samsung has given an opportunity to users to kill the Bixby button completely and after that if even get pressed it would do nothing.
If Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 plus and Note 8 users want to get rid of Bixby and remove it from their smartphones, they just need to follow some simple steps as: “Make sure you’re running the latest version of Bixby inside My Apps inside Galaxy Apps, then head to Bixby home screen, go to Settings and disable Bixby and the Bixby button.”
Once after going through all these steps will be removed from the phone entirely and then the Bixby will no longer irritate users with pocket-waking your phone and accidental butt-dialing to weird uncles or ex-partners.
