Qualcomm Technologies Launched a New Mobile Platform ‘Snapdragon 636’

The Qualcomm Technologies has recently unveiled the new mobile platform ‘Snapdragon 636’ touting the notable improvements over the performance display and gaming. The latest mobile platform for the mobile phones has been announced during the Qualcomm 4G/5G Summit, a 3 days event held in on Tuesday morning in Hong Kong by Kedar Kondap, a Vice President of the Product Management of Qualcomm Technologies.

The new platform, Snapdragon 636 utilizes the Kryo 260 CPU of Qualcomm with a performance of the device increased by 40 per cent, if compared with the previous version, i.e. Snapdragon 630. Since, the Adreno 509 GPU of Qualcomm increases performance of browsing as well as gaming by 10 per cent.

The EcoPix and TruPalette are two features that Qualcomm provides to improve the system’s display, by integrating them into the Adreno Visual Processing Subsystem. In addition, the new Snapdragon 636 mobile platform supports Assertive Display along with the ultra-wide FHD + displays.

This features a modem ‘Snapdragon X12 4G LTE’ to enable the peak download with the speed 600 Mbps. However, according to the Taiwanese Federal Trade Commission (TFTC), Qualcomm has used the standard essential patents especially for the LTE, WCDMA and CDMA mobile technologies. Qualcomm is working on these all to force the rivals to accept the various contractual clauses, which had been effected by driving up prices and handling its supremacy in the market of cell phones in China.

Qualcomm added a statement that, “The Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform uses a 14 NM FinFet process, and is pin and software compatible with the Snapdragon 660 and 630 mobile platforms, allowing Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) already using these platforms to quickly and efficiently add Snapdragon 636 to their device line-ups.”
