Being more serious about the security of homes, the Nest, owned by Alphabet is presenting the entire new product family, which it calls as ‘Nest Secure’. This new modular system has been announced today by Nest, which is designed for making homes more secured in the simple and modern way.
The system has ‘Nest Guard’ as its centerpiece, which is a puck-shaped device and very small in size with the keypad on top. The device takes place at facing the door and communicates with the set of smaller devices known as Nest Detects.
In addition, Nest Secure system allows the alarms to trigger with a loud siren sound, when someone enters home and doesn’t disarm. For each and every action, the system reflects alert to the user’s phone.
The whole Nest Secure system package that includes two Detects, two Tags and Guard, will be selling by Nest this November for $499 in the United States, and will be followed by Europe and Canada next year. Also the standalone units of Nest Detect will go on market for $59, where the additional Nest Tags will costs $25, with the pre-orders starting today itself.
Marwan Fawaz, Nest CEO said in a statement that, “We’re not just a hardware company. We now have a third service. We’re working on additional services in other areas that we hope to talk about later. It’s an area we’re investing quite a lot of time in.”
