Last month, Lenovo introduced the Moto M for the Chinese market, keeping the Indian launch date undisclosed. The Company since last month has kept on publishing teasers on Twitter about Moto M but never had said any particular date for its commercial launch in India. But now, GSMArena has come up with the news that, Lenovo is going to introduce its Moto M for Indian retails on 13th December. As per the reports of GSMArena, Lenovo will launch Moto M at an official event in Mumbai on 13th December. And to confirm this report, Lenovo-owned Motorola also has started sending out media invitations for the launch event of Mumbai.
Lenovo has always maintained an aggressive progress in the Indian market. Lenovo’s joint venture with Motorola results in many high-end smartphones in the last couple of years, while the market is expecting some more ultra-modern and budget-friendly models in upcoming years. While the entire world is eagerly waiting for the Moto X (2017) which is scheduled to go on sale in next year, Lenovo is gearing up to present its last model for 2016. Titled as “Moto M,” the phone is confirmed to hit availability on 13th December. For the on-going year, Moto M is the last launch of the Chinese Multinational Lenovo.
To recall, Moto M is the premium variant of the popular Moto G4 Plus and is Motorola’s first smartphone to have an all-metal design. While the Moto G4 Plus costs around Rs. 14,999 in India, the upcoming Moto M is rumoured to be priced at Rs. 18,000. In China, Lenovo introduced Moto M with the price tag of $290 and by keeping an eye on this; we can expect the phone to cost from Rs 18,000 to Rs 20,000.
As far as the specifications of Moto M are concerned, Moto M sports a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen mated on 1920×1080 pixels display. Under the hood, the phone will be powered by Qualcomm MSM8952 Snapdragon 617 Octa-core (4×1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.0 GHz Cortex-A53) paired with Adreno 405.
With two memory variants like 32 GB ROM+3 RAM and 64 GB ROM and 4 GB RAM, the phone will run on Android OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow) OS. With 16MP rear and 8MP front-facing snappers, Moto M will be backed by a Li-Ion 3050mAh non-removable battery. With three colour variants like gold, grey, and silver, the handset will also support Dolby sound.
